Project Experience
Decades of engineering across Florida’s most coordination-heavy sectors.

Healthcare & Life Sciences
Hospitals, surgery centers, imaging and oncology suites, laboratories, and central energy plants, new builds and work inside operating facilities alike. The demands hold either way: AHCA compliance, infection control (ICRA), pressurization, and redundancy that leave no margin for error, often with departments open through construction. More than 500 healthcare projects since 1991.

Education
Ground-up campuses and additions across K-12 and higher education, with student housing, athletics, performing arts, and campus infrastructure, and more than 1,000 education projects since 1991. As engineer of record, JLRD delivered Florida's first LEED Gold and LEED Platinum schools and the state's first net zero energy school, a 95,000-square-foot elementary campus built for low Energy Use Intensity (EUI).

Government & Public Institutions
Libraries, courts, public-safety and fire stations, civic buildings, agency offices and labs, built new and modernized in place. Public work brings its own demands: procurement requirements, documentation, and code coordination.

Federal & Mission-Critical
Launch-support and mission-critical facilities, hangars, utility modernization, and Environmental Control Systems (ECS) upgrades in secure, technically sensitive environments with client-specific delivery requirements. The work spans facility condition assessments, resiliency engineering, and phased work inside active, operating facilities.

Transportation & Aviation
Terminals, ticketing, baggage handling, and customs areas, support and maintenance buildings, and hangars, new and upgraded within airports that never close. The defining constraint is the live environment: air handling, humidity, and air distribution work happens around operations and security, on tight phasing.

Industrial, Utilities & Infrastructure
Central energy plants, pump stations, and distribution infrastructure, designed new and upgraded for capacity and redundancy. These are long-life assets judged on how they perform over decades, engineered for the conditions they actually have to meet.

Commercial & Mixed-Use
Office buildings, corporate and tenant build-outs, retail and shopping centers, banks, and mixed-use developments. The range runs from full-building systems to fast-turn tenant improvements, often on compressed schedules inside occupied space.

Hospitality, Leisure & Destination Properties
Hotels, resorts, private and country clubs, restaurants, and destination properties, including large multi-phase campuses. Front-of-house guest experience and back-of-house systems both have to perform, and central-plant and distribution upgrades happen inside properties that never stop serving guests.

Residential Facilities
High-rise, oceanfront, and multifamily residential, senior living, and private residences, from new towers to system replacements for established associations. Coastal conditions are unforgiving: humidity, salt exposure, and aging systems, and work in occupied buildings is phased around residents and association requirements.
